Team: CNM and MD (2wks); CNM, MD 1 week ea; 4 RN (1 is midwifery student as well/CMA, 1 week ea;  l acting pharm asst. 2 weeks;  6 NICA interpreters;  2 cooks; 3 all around persons; 6 crucial set-up people from Nica at  local sites; total of 14 university students for l week;  ~8 Univ. students did clinic work x 4 days; all did waste management project.

Sites: 

• Karla’s House (KH):  4 hours  40 children in group home examined with vision, ht, weight, Phy Exam
• Casa Mateo (CM):  6 hours  37 patients all employees/family members  of hotel where we stayed part of time
• Quinta kids (QE):  2 hours and l5 patients, residents of group home; screening physicals w/vision exams
• Guyilleb:  3-4 hrs about 60 pts  (3 NICA National Service docs saw  l50)  rural village w/o ongoing care
• Huehuete:  4 days, about 200 patients seen by us, with about same by NICA docs
• Quinta general (QG)  5 days about 273 patients seen

Common Diagnoses:

• Respiratory (including rhinitis, asthma, OM, acute resp/chronic resp
• Dental needs, unmet
• Malnutrition (including presumptive anemia/cachexia/parasitosis
• Urinary infection
• Hypertension
• Skeletal-muscular 
• Abdominal Pain
• Eye needs, unmet  (We provided several hundred pairs of glasses for people with presbyopia)

Dental/Vision:  Not all needing further dental and vision  exams and treatment are counted here.  We noted the need for services as much as possible.  The  count here is about 50 from 4 places  with whom we plan follow up.
